Photosensitive safety

Limiting screen and light effects so they avoid fast light-dark changes that can trigger seizures.

Fast flashing light can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. The accessibility guideline WCAG 2.3.1 treats more than three flashes per second as the limit.

In Superevent CrowdLight the effect engine allows no more than 3 light-dark transitions per second on the phone screen, and fast effects are clipped to that limit. If an attendee turns on "Turn off bright effects", fast transitions become a steady colour on that phone. The torch lights only with permission and at no more than 2 Hz. The panel and the desk have a one-button blackout.
